I made an appointment for my husband who suffers from MND and is mostly house bound. His ears had been blocked for a few weeks and it was impossible to get any help from the local GP or district nurses with regards to this issue.

Thank goodness Glen was recommended to us as I had no idea such a service existed. He was punctual, professional, considerate and gentle. My dad has perforated ear drums and it was a struggle to get someone to remove the hard wax, plus with mobility issues going anywhere takes a lot of planning. After ear wax removal on Wednesday I would like to say:

What a lovely gentleman Glen was. He had all the latest equipment and was able to show me on his laptop my ears before treatment and afterwards. I was amazed by the vast difference. He is a pleasant man, we chatted away and for me it was like a social occasion. If you can’t get to surgery it is no problem as Glen will come to your home. Home visits are so convenient, especially for me as I live alone, am disabled, and not allowed out on my own for fear of falling. It takes all the pressure off you getting to the clinic and having to arrange a companion to get you there and back. Without hesitation I would recommend Glen for ear wax removal to everyone.

Glen visited me this morning for an ear wax removal, I have been dealing with a blocked ear for over a week and was desperate to get it removed. He visited me with his equipment and kindly removed every bit of ear wax out of both my left and right ear while having a friendly chat. After leaving hospital I was told that I had to have an audiology test, but as I had a build up of wax in my ears I was then told that I should have them syringed and was then referred to meanwood clinic to have the procedure done.

I then started to wonder if I could have the wax removed privately I would do.

So last Wednesday I rang to enquire.

I actually made a mistake in that I rang the wrong number, but if what happened on the following day was the result of a mistake I hope I go on making mistakes for the rest of my life!!

Glen said he could come and do the work on my ears the next day at 9.30am, and despite the fact that he was not a short distance away, he drove in front of our house at exactly 9.30am.

He was friendly, reassuring, yet professional and completed the procedure within an hour.

The whole thing was carried out quite quickly and painlessly, although I was shown how much had been taken out, and also the before and after photographs, so I did wonder how this had been possible.

Strangely enough people had been saying that I was not hearing well recently and yet I wasn't aware that this was the case.

But now I am wondering why everyone is shouting at me and normal noises seem very loud.

While on holiday I had time in Howarth. Saw a notice offering ear wax removal.
I had limited time as I had to catch our coach back to the hotel.
Took a chance, explained my limited time. Luckily the Audiologist, Glen was between appointments. He explained the procedure, and I said, ok let’s go. 5 minutes later task completed. Both my husband and myself have been struggling with a build up of wax and we contacted The Mobile Hearing Clinic Ltd. on recommendation to us. Two different procedures were used as treatment. I am regularly troubled with excess wax. Previously I have had the ears syringed but then my ears become infected.
Glen was able to remove the wax using suctioning method minimising the risk of infection. Throughout the procedure he was reassuring, explaining carefully what he was doing so that I felt relaxed. Previous occasions that my wax has been removed I have experienced discomfort, but not with Glen. I am happy to use him again in the future and would happily recommend him.

Having worked with Glen for 6 years and being impressed with his skills and his ethos, I naturally turned to him when I needed impressions taking of my own ears. I was given a convenient appointment and he attended my home to carry out the work neatly and speedily.

As a hard of hearing audiologist, I find Glen to be sensitive to the needs of hearing-impaired people. For example, he mimes as well as speaking to check you’re OK while you have impression material blocking up your ears! Not all audiologists are as thoughtful (although we should be!) but Glen has a gift for understanding these things.

Glen cares very much about the standard of his work, and consistently prioritises the needs of his patients. I have worked with him in the NHS and at Boots, and know him to be experienced and very good at what he does.

If you’ve heard of ‘the toothpaste that dentists use’ to refer to something that is known to be good in that industry, well, Glen is the audiologist that audiologists use. I wish him very well in his new venture and I know that he will take care of his wax removal and hearing care customers. Would highly recommend.

My wife had been having issues with her hearing for a number of months and was going through the GP to get her ears cleared of wax. Finally on the day of her procedural appointment, there was a mix up with the time and it was missed.
